Kari Hoglund Kounkel.  Writer. Blogger. Creator.

Kari began her publishing journey with a deeply moving debut book, UNSPOKEN SORROW: WHISPERS FROM A BROKEN HEART. The poignant work delves into the emotional aftermath of a 1997 school bus accident, an event that profoundly affected her life and the lives of many others. Through her eloquent and heartfelt writing, Kari offers a compassionate exploration of grief, resilience, and hope. The second edition, published in 2024, concludes the story in a way not possible in the original publication.

An industry-specific companion workbook, A CRASH COURSE: PREPARING FOR A CATASTROPHIC EVENT, details a series of apparently unrelated and unimportant circumstances that caused the bus company to be fully prepared the day of the crash. Kari has written the manual for other school bus operations to use to prevent being caught unaware and unprepared should the unthinkable happen.

Also an avid blogger and creator, Kari is creative in finding ways to connect with new audiences in new ways. Whether she’s crafting a new piece, sharing her thoughts on her blog, or dreaming up her next big project, Kari infuses her work with a delightful mix of humor and sincerity.
